This
is super easy to make these crisp toasts for appetizers.
Ingredients
1
French-bread baguette, sliced 1/4" thick
1/4
cup extra virgin olive oil for brushing
1
Garlic clove, whole
Salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 375F
Lightly
brush both sides of each side with olive oil using a pastry brush – just a thin
layer of olive oil.
Place
the slices in a single layer on two baking sheets that are lined with
parchment paper.
Bake
on middle rack for about 8 to 10 minutes until golden; then turn them over and
bake the second side, about the same time. Keep an eye on this so they don’t
burn.
Once
removed, rub the garlic clove on each slice and lightly sprinkle with salt on
top.
Notes:
The crostini can be made a few days ahead of time as long as
you keep them in an airtight container. I prefer to make them the same day that
I serve my appetizers.
